Next Generation Foundation was founded in 2000. Our mission is to improve health, education, and societal support for Maine's most vulnerable populations. Our specific interest areas are:
Children, elderly and displaced
Basic human needs
Programs that enhance human health, social equality or Maine's economy and workforce
Our large grants aim to not only advance nonprofits but make them stronger.
Until 2013, the Next Generation Foundation awarded small
grants to nursing homes, community organizations, health support
organizations, schools, hospice programs, and social change
With a new infusion of funds from the founder's estate, we launched a
large grants program in 2014. We received 726 Letters of Inquiry from
which we selected 115 to submit full proposals. From May to November, we
made 80 site visits and have awarded grants to 79 organizations.
We are not currently accepting unsolicited proposals.
In 2015 we anticipate focusing on following our grantees.
